Background to the Karhuseutu delta-project

The Karhuseutu delta-project is based on the good experiences in the Mediavaunu-project during the years 2003-2005. Satakunta Moving Picture Centre has now the moving production and training unit ready to offer the possibilities of digital media to the people living in the countryside of Satakunta.

In the spring 2005 negotiations about how to develop the documentation methods of the local traditions in Satakunta took place. How could the methods of Mediavaunu be utilized in these processes, in which the local knowledge is gathered? At the same time Karhuseutu ry asked from Satakunta Moving Picture Centre about the possibilities to create multimedia presentation from the areas and the villages in the Karhuseutu area. Also some inquiries from Karvianjoki and Noormarkunjoki were made. In Karhuseutu delta-project all these ideas are summed together under one project.
